Bat Walks

Come and join us on a magical bat walk around the farm and discover the world of these incredible winged mammals. Learn all about their behaviour, habitats, and the important role they play in our ecosystem, and even listen out for their calls using our bat detector as they fly overhead at dusk.

North Hayne Farm is a fantastic place to explore and learn about them in their natural environment. Some of these species have even made their home right here on the farm, giving our guests a unique opportunity to see wildlife up close and experience nature in action.

When can you join a bat walk?

Our bat walks run from May through to October during school holiday periods, beginning approximately half an hour before dusk. Each session includes an informative introduction, activity packs for children, and a guided walk suitable for the whole family - perfect for both mini rangers and grown ups alike.
