Beaches
There are no less than 22 popular beaches within easy reach of North Hayne Farm. There are beach
types to suit all families and many of our beaches are in the MCS Good Beach Guide or have seaside awards.
Here are a few of our most visited beaches
- Woolacombe
One of the most popular beaches of the area, golden sand, 'Blue flag seaside award resort',
easy access, shops, parking, easy access for disabled, toilets, nature trails, safe swimming,
water sports and refreshments.
- Putsborough
A popular sandy beach with similar facilities to Woolacombe.
- Saunton Sands
Eight kilometers of golden sands with the beautiful dunescape of Braunton
Burrows (the largest sand dune system in the UK) in the background, recently
designated as a UNSECO World Biosphere Reserve.
- Croyde
A top surfers beach with board and equipment hire, all sand, excellent
facilities complemented by the pretty thatched village of Croyde itself.
- Instow
Another sandy beach with yacht club, waterside pubs and pretty village.
- Westward Ho!
Sand and pebbles with a man made rock swimming pool which reveals itself at low tide.
Lots of fun.
- Tunnels
Sand and shingle, Ilfracombes award winning beach with hand carved tunnels
(from the 1820's) which lead to several exciting beaches; great for rock
pools. Shop, refreshments.
- Hele Bay
Sand and rock, winning the 'Tidy Britain Seaside Award' for excellent facilities.
- Barricane Bay
Next to Woolacombe with beautiful sand and fabulous shells!
