Hopi Ear Candles

Hopi ear candles are named after the native American tribe who first introduced this gentle therapy to the West. The Hopi nation is renowned for their extensive knowledge of healing and their spiritual lifestyle. The translation of the word Hopi means 'peaceful ones'.

What is a Hopi Ear Candle?

The Hopi candle is not infact a candle as such, but a hollow tube made out of cotton flax. The flax is impregnated with extract of honey and herb oils (chamomile, sage and St Johns Wort), the healing properties of which have been known to the Hopi tribe for many years. Only the best quality Biosun candles are used.

Conditions Ear Candles can help

Ear candles can help with conditions such as, sinusitis, earwax, earache, glue ear, loss of hearing, snoring, irritation of the ears and tinnitus. It is also helpful for the treatment of headaches and migraines. The treatment is so gentle that it is safe for children.

The treatment

The treatment is very gentle and relaxing. The 'Candle' is placed carefully in the opening of ear and lit. As it burns it will produce a local heat which is a wonderfully relaxing experience. The warm air combined with the oils and herbs soften any wax and the gentle vacuum effect causes the wax to be drawn up into the base of the candle. Once treatment time is complete the candle is removed and the treatment is repeated on the other ear with a second candle. At the end of the candle treatment a very relaxing facial massage is given, paying particular attention to the sinus and ear areas. The treatment is finally completed with a neck and shoulder massage.

Please note that anyone with a perforated ear drum or with grommets this treatment is not advisable.
